Impact of the traffic on the environment in the economic valuation procedures – Conceptual design of the state road "Vožd Karađorđe"
Abstract
In traffic evaluation procedures in transport, the external cost calculation represents one of the steps in determining the economic feasibility of investing funds in the realization of a traffic project. The first part of the paper analyzes the manual for the assessment of external costs at the level of the European Union (Update of the handbook on External Costs of Transport 2019) with a focus on the values and procedures for calculating the costs of air pollution, costs caused by noise and costs of climatic changes. For the calculation of costs, the size of the transport work on the given traffic section and the unit costs shown in this manual for each category of vehicles by cubic (for passenger cars), carrying capacity (for commercial vehicles and buses) and the type of propellant for each type of road (two-way, multilane and highway). The second part of the paper presents the results of the application of the mentioned calculation procedures for this category of costs that are presented on a real example of the Conceptual design of state road "Vožd Karađorđe".
