Preliminary design of bicycle tracks at Stari and Novi Banovci
Abstract
Today, in most countries, according to current traffic regulations, bicycle traffic is considered as a mean of transport, which makes the cyclist as equal participant in traffic. Due to the fact that bicycle is far less dangerous in terms of environmental pollution in comparison with other means of transportation, but also has a very positive impact on the health of the people who drive them, many cities are trying to provide different cycling infrastructure to facilitate driving: bicycle tracks, special places to park bikes, parts of the city that can be reached only by bicycle or on foot, etc. The paper gives an overview of the proposed technical solution of bicycle tracks as a continuation of the general planning study of bicycle traffic in urban areas.
