Urban railway track system structures used in mixed traffic
Abstract
The starting point for working on this project was the railway track superstructure, and the objective was to define the optimal structure which would represent, together with the other tram track structural elements, the basis for solving the forthcoming tasks of reconstruction of the existing railway sections and construction of the new ones. One of the main tasks of this paper is to define the minimum concrete slab thickness which has to meet certain criteria for the projected traffic loading. The analysis of the concrete slab was carried out by application of the software TOWER, and the results of the analysis were compared to the results of the analytical methods, characterized by the complex and extensive calculation.
